The foods in the Yes Chef! Cleanse are specifically designed to support the body’s detoxification pathways.
The Cleanse guidelines recommend a diet that is gluten free and composed of whole foods, with low saturated fats. In addition, we emphasise a regime of hydrating and alkalising.
When we breakdown the Cleanse, the food we provide will be white proteins such as chicken, eggs, tofu, tempeh, turkey and fish. Of course there will be lovely fresh vegetables (except potato and sweet potato) and fresh fruit. We will also include nuts and seeds (no peanuts) but beans and legumes are kept to a minimum.
When it comes to beverages, please avoid all soft drinks, fruit juices and cordials for the 2 week Cleanse. Alcohol is also off the menu and keep coffee to a minimum 1 -2 cups per day – almond milk is recommended.
Water intake for the Cleanse should be 30 ml per kg of your body weight. So for example if you are 70kg’s then you will need 2.1L per day. Remember that herbal teas and mineral water count.

It is so important to be exercising when doing the Cleanse.
We recommend that you schedule an exercise routine first thing in the morning as this supports the body’s daily cleansing by enhancing circulation and helping you feel energised. Exercise will also help remove waste and deliver nutrients and oxygen to the body.
Overall, productivity is so much higher when you are doing regular exercise as your sleep patterns are dramatically improved. Best of all, physical activity is also a natural antidepressant.

As parents, employees, employers, friends, relatives and members of communities, we are constantly giving or thinking of others, we tend to put ourselves on the backburner and it’s only when there is a crisis that we then address our health.
Embarking on a Cleanse with nutrient dense foods and holistic dietary guidelines is something that everyone should do every few months. Look at these two weeks as a time to set goals, and work out how you are going to make these goals happen – the how. This is a time for you, so park your social life to the side just for the two weeks, it is such a small sacrifice for big results.
Take the Cleanse a step further and detox your home. Why not do a spring clean – clean out your wardrobe, clean out your makeup and even detox toxic people in your life. And don’t forget to do something once a week that you love, such as going to a gallery, going to the movies, shopping spree, day spa, get your hair done, have a massage, go for a hike or even learn to meditate.
