Yes Chef! Food Theory

Yes Chef Lite is a celebration of food and flavour. Our executive chef, Rob Crichton, and holistic nutritionist, Kacy Thurlow, have worked hard to produce nutritionally balanced meals that have been sourced ethically and sustainably.  

Health and well-being are now considered amongst our most valuable assets.  We know that without it, we can’t experience life to its full potential. There is now more education and knowledge around achieving optimal health than ever before. We’ve taken all this research on-board and each Yes Chef Lite recipe has been prepared to ensure it is nutritionally balanced and nutrient dense. Organic fruits and vegetables are sourced locally, grass-fed pastured meats and wild fish populate our menu. Our focus is on providing weekly menus that are whole-food based, meaning we do not use processed foods that are high in refined grains, sugars or preservatives.  

What is the difference between Lite and Nourish?

Our chefs have prepared our restaurant quality food in two sizes, to support your healthy, balanced diet, that fits effortlessly into your lifestyle, to ensure you eat well without the hassle or fuss of meal planning or preparation:

Yes Chef Nourish – classic portion size

This product is ideal for those with a regular sized appetite, who want to eat well, seeking convenience. You can be confident knowing you are fuelling your body with nutritious and delicious food.

Yes Chef Light – portion controlled, around 400 calories per meal

This product is ideal for those with a smaller appetite or those looking for weight loss. You can be confident you are eating well balanced, nutritional meals to support your health goals.

The menu

Our set menu changes weekly, designed with seasonal produce. We are unable to offer any substitutions or changes to the set menu.

Is your food fresh or frozen?

Our food is made fresh to order!

When is your weekly order cut-off?

Orders close every Wednesday at 11:59 pm for orders delivered the following week. 

When will I get charged?

One week only – if you have ordered a one week only plan, you will be charged on the day you order.

Subscription – if you have ordered a weekly subscription, your credit card will be charged every Wednesday, in advance for deliveries the following week.

I don’t want a subscription, can I order for one week only?

Yes you sure can. All our products can be ordered as single order or on weekly subscription.

How do your subscriptions work?

Our subscription service has been set up for your convenience. Every Wednesday your credit card will be charged for deliveries the following week.

Can I suspend my subscription? 

Yes you sure can. Login to your portal and hit “suspend” on your subscription. Be sure to do this by 10 am Tuesday, for deliveries the following week. 

How do I reactivate my subscription?

Login to your portal and hit “reactivate” subscription. Just remember that orders close on Wednesday at 11:59 pm, for deliveries the following week.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes you sure can. Login to your portal and hit cancel on your subscription. Be sure to do this by 10 am Tuesday for deliveries the following week. 

When will my subscription be charged?

If you have ordered a weekly subscription, your credit card will be charged every Wednesday, in advance for deliveries the following week.

Where do you deliver?

We’re currently servicing select Lower Northern Beaches Suburbs, Lower North Shore, CBD, Eastern Suburbs, & Inner West. View our Delivery Locations.

What days do you deliver?

Monday and Thursday. We deliver on Monday, for meals Monday through Wednesday, and on Wednesday for meals Thursday through Saturday. 

If you’ve ordered a 5 or 6 day meal plan, you will receive two deliveries throughout the week, to ensure ultimate freshness.

What time do you deliver?

Our delivery window is between 6:30 am – 1:00 pm. Please ensure someone is home to accept your delivery or you have let us know a suitable place to leave your delivery.

Will I get notified when my food has been delivered?

You will receive an SMS when your order is on it’s way, and when it has been delivered.

How long can my food stay out of the fridge once it’s been delivered?

Our food is delivered blast-chilled in an insulated carton ready for refrigeration. We strictly advise food is put in the fridge within three hours of the delivery being received, weather conditions pending.

Is your packaging oven safe?

Where stated on our heating instructions, some of our packaging is oven safe. Please read instructions carefully. 

Is your packaging recyclable or compostable?

We care about the environment! Our packaging is sourced sustainably. All our packaging is either home compostable, recyclable, or commercially compostable.

Do you collect packaging?

We are happy to recycle your delivery box and insulation for you. On your following scheduled delivery day, all you have to do is leave your used box and insulation outside your door, and we’ll pick it up.

How do you package your meals?

Ordered for one? All meals will be individually portioned and grouped by meal e.g. “Monday Lunch”.

Ordered for two? All lunch meals will be individually portioned in case you are not eating together, whereas all dinner meals will be two portions in one package, for dining together.

All orders come in recyclable boxes with insulation and ice packs.  

How much work do I have to do to serve your food?

For your convenience, our menu is designed to bring ‘wow-factor’ to meal time with minimal preparation from you. All portions are provided with simple ‘heat and serve’ instructions to get dinner on the table in a few easy steps.  Dinners may take up to 30 mins in the oven.

How do I follow your heating instructions?

As all ovens vary, our heating instructions are a good guide on how long to heat your food. Our heating instructions get the best results when your oven has been preheated first, and when your food has come to room temp.

We at Yes Chef err on the side of not over cooking, so if you like your food well done, you may find you like to heat the food a little longer. Some of our dishes are also microwavable, giving you the added convenience of preparing your meals at work or on the run – especially for lunch in the office!

To check that your fish is cooked properly, break a small section near the middle, if it flakes and comes apart, it is cooked. If it doesn’t flake and come apart probably needs a couple of more min.

How long can my food stay out of the fridge once it’s been delivered?

How long does your food last for?

As our food is made and delivered fresh, our meals have a short shelf life. Our meals are labelled with the day of the week they should be eaten on. Please use the labelled day as a “used by” date. To ensure ultimate freshness, we strongly advise against eating meals beyond the labelled day.
